Back in the 1940's Henry Goff called upon his son Roy, who at the time was in the service getting ready to come home to Pikeville,KY. The reason for the call was Henry was wanting to show Roy some property he was considering purchasing. The property lay next to the river by the first bridge crossing over into Pikeville. Roy said "Dad why in the world you want to buy property that's hillside and on the riverbank."  Henry said "We are going to build a building and start a business." And today in that same old building, where the wood was cut at a sawmill at the mouth of Chloe, is where you will find the 5th generation of this family.
